Ask several photographers how they define street photography and you will likely hear several different answers. For me, street photography means making candid photographs of people in public experiencing everyday life.
Sometimes this requires finding something interesting in the mundane. Other times it's capturing a fleeting moment, an interaction or a gesture. This is especially challenging, because no two moments are exactly alike. As a street photographer I must learn to anticipate events before they occur.
Also, because my subjects are typically strangers, the images that I capture, as well as the shots that I miss, will never again be possible. Every frame is a unique, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity! This is why I love street photography.
